It’s hard not to think of Everest when thinking about Nepal. But, much as Italy isn’t just the Colosseum and Peru more than Macchu Picchu, Nepal is a land of jungles, mountains and lakes. Home to Buddhist monks living a more tranquil existence alongside the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.

On your GIA trip you could be involved in teaching English to the local children, a language vitally important to their future employment. You could also be involved in teaching English to the famous Buddhist monks. It’s an opportunity to be immersed in the local community and really get to know Nepal’s culture.

And once you have finished your voluntary work, it’s time for some fun activities. From kayaking, to white water rafting, from cooking to trekking. On your GIA trip, you will go home with suitcases full of memories and hopefully a desire to keep exploring all our world has to offer.
