Tanzania is most famous as the home of the highest mountain in Africa - Mount Kilimanjaro. It's snow-capped peaks can be seen from afar and are an iconic backdrop to many images of the country.

Here you will find the plains of the Serengeti savanna; filled with zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and impala, to name but a few. Ngorongoro Crater offers a unique safari experience, a national park enclosed within a naturally formed basin.

The east coast is known for the tropical paradise of Zanzibar. An island filled with white sand beaches, turquoise water and an abundance of marine life such as whale sharks, green turtles and bottlenose dolphins.

Your GIA trip to Tanzania will include some service time which will be an opportunity for you to give back to the community you’re visiting. This could involve teaching in a school, helping with construction work in a rural village or getting involved with one of our female empowerment programs.

After volunteering, your trip will see you enjoy the beautiful nature of the country. Try to spot the Big Five on safari, enjoy a spice tour in Zanzibar, snorkel in the crystal clear waters, hike and visit the city of Arusha.
