On your GIA trip to England you will have the opportunity to be involved in community and sustainability projects where even a few short days can make a big difference. You will be helping with homeless people, a very real issue in cities such as London, assisting in soup kitchens and understanding why people end up this way.
Your trip to England is also about team-building and about challenging yourself. You will be taking part in obstacle courses, working together to build rafts, kayaking and much much more, all focused on team building in the beautiful English countryside. Furthermore, you will be hearing from someone who was involved in a serious car crash damaging his spine, but who managed through grit and determination, to overcome this to run 156 miles across the Sahara for the Marathon des Sables. He has appeared on the BBC, ITV and has even spoken at Buckingham Palace. A truly remarkable story of what can happen when you understand that your only obstacle in life is one created in your mind.
And in visiting Stamford, a beautiful town full of Regency buildings nestled in the English countryside, but relatively unknown, you will also have the chance to experience a typically English way of life. The trip also includes a visit to Cambridge, to visit the university there and to learn about what it takes to study there.
Perhaps your GIA trip will be your own turning point, we certainly hope so!
